Dear Runner, please read the most important information regarding the start! Plan your race day carefully to avoid rushing. Staying calm before the event will give you the chance to fully focus on your race.
Get ready for race day. Wondering how to get to the start line? We have prepared a set of tips for you, so please read on.
This year’s edition will be the largest in history: 25,000 participants in the Warsaw Half Marathon and 8,000 in the New Balance High Five Race. This is a record-breaking scale! Please keep this in mind when planning your race day schedule.
When and where are the starts taking place?
Both races will take place on the penultimate Sunday of the month, March 22nd.
- The New Balance High Five Race will start in two waves, beginning at 9:00 AM. The start line for this race is located at Wybrzeże Szczecińskie.
- The Warsaw Half Marathon will start in five waves, beginning at 11:00 AM. The start line for this race is located on the Poniatowski Bridge.
Participants in active manual wheelchairs will start from the front line in both races, a few minutes before the runners.
How to get to the Runner’s Village and the start line?
The number of parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the start area is very limited. We highly encourage you to use public transport on race day. Parking at the PGE Narodowy grounds will not be available!
Based on the resolution of the Warsaw City Council, race participants can travel for free on public transport within Ticket Zone 1 on race day. Free rides apply to buses, trams, the metro, and SKM (Fast Urban Railway) trains. To use free transport, you must have your bib number with you.
Please remember that:
- In the PGE Narodowy area, tram traffic will be maintained between Al. Waszyngtona, Al. Zieleniecka, and Targowa St.
- The Poniatowski Bridge (southern roadway towards Praga) will be closed to traffic from March 21st at 19:00 until March 22nd at 18:00. The northern roadway will be closed on March 22nd from 5:00 to 14:00.
- We have described all temporary traffic changes in a specially prepared Guide.
- The underground parking at PGE Narodowy will be closed.
- There will be no parking available at the PGE Narodowy grounds (outdoor area). A strict no-parking rule will apply from Friday to Sunday.
We ask all drivers to use the Park and Ride facilities located near metro stations and take the metro to the start line. Please do not drive to the start and finish areas. Getting in and out, as well as finding a parking spot, will be very difficult on race day and will take a lot of time.
We recommend taking the metro to the Stadion Narodowy station (using exit number 7) and walking to the Half Marathon Village at the PGE Narodowy grounds.
The Warsaw Public Transport (WTP) website will help you check your commute and any schedule changes.
