Registration for the 47. Warsaw Marathon has started!

Registration for the Great Run has begun! Whether you’re a debutant or a veteran – join us on September 28th.  47th Warsaw Marathon is waiting for you!

You can sign up for the race by paying the traditional registration fee, but you can also… run for a good cause!

In the #BiegamDobrze (I Run Well) campaign, you receive your race number as a gift for your charity. Choose the charity path on the registration website, set up a virtual piggy bank, and encourage your friends to support the chosen social initiative! After reaching the threshold, you’ll receive, among other things, a special – orange number, priority access to the post-race massage area, and most importantly… you add an extra dimension to your preparations and the race itself. Consider it!

The 19th Warsaw Half Marathon and New Balance High Fve Race are set for March 30, 2025. Mark your calendars as Warsaw will once again transform into a vibrant hub for tens of thousands of runners and supporters! Registration is open!

2024 in Review – Record-Breaking Year!

This year was monumental for Warsaw’s running scene:

  • The 18th Warsaw Half Marathon was the largest in Poland’s history, with nearly 13,500 finishers. Mateusz Kaczor and Monika Jackiewicz set records at the 33rd Polish Half Marathon Championships held during the event.
  • The 46th Warsaw Marathon boasted 7,189 participants, its highest turnout since 2018, with Hungary’s Levente Szemerei breaking his national record in 2:10:43.

#IRunWell – Running for a Cause

The #IRunWell initiative combines the passion for running with the mission to support those in need. Participants create online fundraising campaigns for chosen charities, and meeting the fundraising goal secures their entry.

Since its inception in 2015, over 13,000 runners have raised 10 million PLN for charitable causes. In 2024 alone, 808 runners collectively raised 812,367 PLN during the 10th anniversary edition.

Lots of records in the capital during the 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon!

The 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon the largest half marathon in Polish history! We know the winners of the race! Resolutions also in the 33rd PZLA Polish Half Marathon Championships – two new championship records!

A great sporting competition on the route is behind us – the records expected by the experts fell! On Sunday morning, the weather was an ally of the runners, who faced a distance of 21.097 kilometers in Warsaw. The sunny, windless aura was conducive to achieving great results! Two Polish Championship records were broken. The race attracted 13,500 participants, making it the largest half-marathon in the country’s history.

The 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon with a new attendance record and great results!

Triumphant among the ladies was Fabienne Königstein from Germany, covering the half-marathon distance in 01:09:32! Among the men, Dorian Boulvin from Belgium triumphed with a time of 01:01:58.

In second place among men at the finish line was Mateusz Kaczor from Poland with a time of 01:02:06. This is Kaczor’s best personal result, the best result of a Pole in the history of the Warsaw Half Marathon and the history of the Polish Championships. Third to the finish line was Polat Kemboi Arikan from Turkey with a time of 01:02:10.

The women’s podium was completed by Domenika Mayer of Germany (01:09:46) and Marina Nemchenko of Ukraine (01:11:13). The Mexican masters record was also broken – Juan Luis Barrios ran to the finish line with a time of 01:02:43.

The first two women at the finish line – Fabienne Königstein and Domenika Mayer won life records and qualifications for the European Championships in Rome. As many as 6 women from the top eight runners will return from Warsaw with new life records.

Settlement of the 33rd PZLA Polish Half Marathon Championships – Monika Jackiewicz and Mateusz Kaczor new Polish Half Marathon Champions. A new national record!

Monika Jackiewicz became the Polish champion – sixth at the finish line of the run among women she set the best result in the history of the Polish Championships. The runner from MKL Szczecin checked in at the finish line with a time of 1:12:05. Second place went to Sabina Jarząbek (1:12:42), and third was Anna Bańkowska (1:13:17).

The men’s competition was won by Mateusz Kaczor (RLTL Optima Radom) with a result of 1:02:06. The runner-up was Andrzej Rogiewicz (1:03:46), and the third was Kamil Karbowiak (1:03:47).

– Spring has taken off in Warsaw! The weather was perfect for fast running – the participants showed excellent form, it was a perfect run performed by many of them. This is the largest half marathon in the history of Poland, it spilled records, life records, there are qualifications for the European Half Marathon Championships, there are new best results in the history of the Polish Championships. It’s a beautiful day! says Marek Tronina, director of the “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation.

– Once again we were able to be involved in the Warsaw Half Marathon and once again the event delighted us. We are happy to be in a place that combines sports passion and caring for health, which is one of the core values we value at Nationale-Nederlanden. We are not only patrons of the event, but also active participants. This year, our company was represented by nearly 170 runners, as well as numerous volunteers along the race route. This year’s record-breaking enrollment statistics also show how important physical activity is for Poles. This is extremely encouraging and we are looking forward to running the full marathon distance in September – says Marta Maszewska-Danielewicz, Director of Marketing Communications and Brand at Nationale-Nederlanden.

The New Balance High Five Race, an accompanying run, was also settled.

Among men, in the accompanying run of the 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon, Bartosz Jarczok triumphed – he checked in at the finish line with a time of 00:14:37. Among women, the fastest was Martyna Masłowska with a time of 00:16:35.

In second place among men was Krzysztof Tschirch with a time of 00:14:50, and third finished Jakub Napierała with a time of 00:14:56. The women’s podium was completed by Karolina Bilawa (00:16:41) and Beata Klimek (00:16:51).

This run also saw a record turnout – the distance of 5 kilometers was covered by 4519 people!

We know the winners of the New Balance High Five Race accompanying the 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon. New, fast route of the run – great results and a new attendance record.

Among the men, Bartosz Jarczok triumphed – he checked in at the finish line with a time of 00:14:37. Among the ladies, the fastest was Martyna Masłowska with a time of 00:16:35.

Attendance record!

In 2022, the run was completed evenly by two thousand people (2010). A year ago – almost evenly three thousand (3035). This year’s edition saw a record 4526 people at the start of the run! The limit of participants in the run was already closed a week before the start! 

This run opens an exceptional day – today is still the outcome of the 18th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon and the 33rd PZLA Polish Championships!

17th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon – event record!

We have met the winners of the 17th Nationale-Nederlanden Warsaw Half Marathon! The great sporting rivalry on the route is already behind us – the expected by experts records of the event fell! 5 women below the previous record of the event!

Triumphant among the ladies was Aminet Ahmed from Ethiopia, covering the distance of 21km 97m in 01:07:08 she set a new record for the event! Also running below the previous record were: Veronicah Njeri Maina of Kenya (01:07:22), Fantu Shugi Gelasa of Ethiopia (01:07:58), Tegest Ayalew Ymer of Ethiopia (01:08:06), Shamilah Tekaa Kipsiror of Kenya (01:08:18). Among the men, Abraham Kasongwor Akopesha of Kenya triumphed with a time of 01:00:55.

 

In second place among the men at the finish line was Kiros Ashenafi Gebru from Ethiopia with a time of 01:00:58, and the third to cross the finish line was Kenyan Musa Mitei with a time of 01:01:00. The best of the Poles Mateusz Kaczor (01:05:16) took 18th place.
The best of the Polish women, Iwona Bernardelli (01:16:03), took 9th place.

The return of the 10,000th turnout!

The number of participants who ran the half-marathon distance was 10,049 – the highest turnout since 2019 – that is, since before the pandemic, when running was at its peak of popularity! The return of more than 10,000 runs is encouraging and pleasing to the participants themselves – running in major sporting events is an opportunity to celebrate your passion in a truly unique way.

Winners of the New Balance High Five Race!

Sebastian Nowicki is the winner of New Balance High Five Race. His time is 00:14:22. Krzysztof Tschirch (00:14:36) and Tomasz Biskupski (00:14:40) took 2nd and 3rd places respectively. 

In women category Monika Dubiella gained the victory in a time of 00:16:27. Runner-up was Małgorzata Karpiuk in 00:16:28. Beata Klimek took the 3rd place running 00:17:08
