Warsaw Half Marathon joins the prestigious SuperHalfs series

6 November 2026 | 5 minutes of reading

A new chapter for SuperHalfs was unveiled at a conference in Porto: SuperHalfs Europa. Launching in 2027, the new series will connect six half marathons in Naples, Warsaw, Belgrade, Vienna, Riga and Stockholm, inviting runners from around the world to take on a new European running adventure.

Following a record-breaking 20th edition, joining SuperHalfs Europa marks another milestone for the Warsaw Half Marathon, strengthening its place on the European running calendar.

Alongside this announcement comes a new date for the 21st Warsaw Half Marathon: 14 March 2027. Registration opens on November 16!

What is SuperHalfs?

SuperHalfs began as an international challenge connecting six prestigious European half marathons in Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen, Cardiff and Valencia. Within the running community, it is sometimes described as the half marathon equivalent of the World Marathon Majors, the series bringing together some of the world’s most famous marathons.

The idea is simple: complete all six half marathons, in any order and with no time limit. Runners can spread their journey across several seasons, fitting each race around their own plans. Every finish brings them closer to earning the special SuperMedal, combining a personal running goal with the chance to travel and discover Europe.

In 2027, the project will enter a new chapter. The existing six races will become SuperHalfs Originals, while a second series, SuperHalfs Europa, will launch with half marathons in Naples, Warsaw, Belgrade, Vienna, Riga and Stockholm.

The two series will operate independently, each offering its own six-race challenge and a distinctive SuperMedal. Runners can choose either series or take on both alongside each other, completing the races in any order and at their own pace.

SuperHalfs has always been about much more than running half marathons. It is about giving runners a goal to dream about, places to discover, and a journey to make their own. With SuperHalfs Europa, kindly supported by Generali, we are opening a new chapter while staying true to the spirit and standards that define SuperHalfs

A new chapter for the Warsaw Half Marathon

Joining SuperHalfs Europa marks another milestone for the Warsaw Half Marathon, following its record-breaking 20th anniversary edition. Held under the banner “Let’s run this party!”, the event became the largest road running event in Poland’s history. Together, the half marathon and its accompanying 5K attracted more than 30,000 participants, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for running and mass participation sporting events in Poland.

This year’s Warsaw Half Marathon made history as Poland’s largest road running event. Now we are joining the prestigious SuperHalfs Europa series, which is a major step forward for us and a tremendous opportunity to develop the event further. It opens up entirely new possibilities, allowing us to reach more of the international running community, raise the half marathon’s profile beyond Poland and strengthen its position on the European running scene. Warsaw will become an important destination on the calendar for runners from across Europe and around the world, who will come here as part of their SuperHalfs journey. At the same time, we see our place in the series as a commitment to keep improving the event and maintaining standards that reflect its international standing.

CEO of the “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation

The benefits of joining SuperHalfs Europa extend beyond the Warsaw Half Marathon itself. By combining running with travel, the series turns each race into an opportunity to discover a European city. For Warsaw, it offers a new way to reach an active, international community of runners who increasingly plan their trips around major sporting events. It is an opportunity to showcase both the race and the Polish capital as an appealing destination for city breaks and sports tourism.

A new date for the 21st Warsaw Half Marathon: no need to wait until April!

As part of its move to SuperHalfs Europa, the 21st Warsaw Half Marathon will take place on 14 March 2027, replacing the previously announced date of 4 April. Warsaw will be the new series’ only March race, giving runners more flexibility to plan their season. With events spread across February, March and April, they will have the opportunity to take part in several races without having to choose between closely scheduled events.

Warsaw’s new March date gives runners greater flexibility to include several SuperHalfs races in their spring calendar. A more balanced schedule also creates opportunities for our races to support and promote one another, attract more international runners and strengthen the series as a whole. With its strong running tradition, growing international appeal and a distinctive character, Warsaw is a fantastic addition to the SuperHalfs journey.
