Due to the military invasion of Russia against Ukraine, all citizens of Russia as well as citizens of Belarus coming to the event from their home country have been crossed out from the start list of the Warsaw Peace Half Marathon.
This war takes the lives of thousands and millions lose their detrimental right to live in peace. The decision to disallow countrymen of the invaders in the race is our symbol of solidarity with all citizens of Ukraine and the respect for the Ukrainian runners taking part in the half marathon. Our decision follows the ban of the Polish Track and Field Federation as well the World Athletics and European Athletics imposed on Russian and Belarussian runners in official track and field events.
However, the organizer of the half marathon has made an autonomous decision to keep on the start list the Belarussian runners who live in Poland. These individuals are often dissidents and members of the political opposition who have escaped their home country and found a shelter in Poland. All these individuals express their unconditional support to the peaceful message of our race and their support for the independence and sovereignty of the Ukrainian nation.

В связи с продолжающимся военным нападением на Украину в Варшавском Полумарафоне мира не примут участие граждане России и участники, приехавшие на бег из Беларуси. В войне, в которой гибнут тысячи людей и миллионы людей лишены права жить в мире, недопущение к участию в бегу граждан страны-агрессора является выражением нашей солидарности со всеми гражданами Украины и уважением к спортсменам из этой страны, которые станут на старте.
Данное решение соответствует резолюции Польской ассоциации легкой атлетики, которая исключила возможность граждан этих стран участвовать в соревнованиях по официальному календарю ПЗЛА и положениям международных федераций – Всемирной легкой атлетики и Европейской легкой атлетики.
Мы считаем, что граждане Беларуси и России, выступающие против режимов, должны поддерживать любые действия, направленные на то, чтобы побудить их народы противостоять жестоким действиям своих правительств.
Людям, которые уже сделали оплату, стартовый взнос будет автоматически возвращён тем же способом, который использовался для платежа.

Each participant who finishes the race will receive the medal.
This medal will be awarded to all finishers of the Warsaw Peace Half Marathon.
We celebrate every event by placing one of Warsaw’s symbolic spots on the finishers’ medals. This year however, the crucial symbol of Warsaw and the country is our solidarity with casualties of war and the will to help.
Let the beating of your hearts set the rhythm of your feet; let the medal be your extra boost.
Each of us can run for a good cause!
The Run for Unity with Ukraine is intended not only to express our solidarity and support, but also to bring real financial help to people affected by the war.
The event will be virtual, but each of you can run the distance individually, together with other people or during an organized race.
All your entry fees from this event will be transferred to the Polish Humanitarian Action, which conducts aid operations for people affected by the war in Ukraine. The event runs from February 28th to March 27th and all funds will be donated on an ongoing basis.
In order to allow 100% of your donations to support the goal – we decided not to produce medals or T-shirts, which would create unnecessary costs. Each of you will be able to download an individual certificate confirming your participation in the Run of Unity with Ukraine and your names will be displayed on the official list of results. Most importantly, your help will go to where it is most needed.
DISTANCE
When registering for the run, you can choose one of three distances: 21.097 k, 10k or 5k.

The entry fee for the run is a donation of PLN 50 which will be transferred in its entirety to the Polish Humanitarian Action.
STARTING NUMBERS
From March 2nd, you will be able to download and print your starting numbers from your profile (after logging in on our website) in section “Your Runs”.
RESULTS
Starting on March 2nd you will be able to upload your running results on https://live.sts-timing.pl/bjzu/. There will also be a list of results available on the official website. We would like to thank STS Timing for supporting our initiative free of charge, which allows us to transfer all your donations to the needy.
CERTIFICATES
Each participant of the event will be able to download a certificate confirming participation in the charity virtual run.

We present you the official New Balance High Five Race T-shirt. We believe that it will make for a great memory of our get together. We will see you on March 27th at 1 p.m. The route leading through the heart of the capital and the finish line at Multimedia Fountain Park on Wislostrada will surely be remembered for a long time.
The Warsaw Peace Half Marathon will start at 9:00 a.m., while the New Balance 5K Run will commence at 1:00 p.m. The division into starting rounds according to the current regulation, has been canceled.

The 2022 Warsaw Half Marathon will be officially called the Warsaw Peace Half Marathon. This name will be displayed on the race bibs and in other media. Road races are more than merely sport competitions. They also carry important social messages.
Right now we are living the moment when thousands of people should carry such a message down the streets of Warsaw. The message is: peace is one of the key values of mankind. And so is the right to live in peace. The Warsaw Marathon was originally called the Peace Marathon. Just a few days ago we all of the sudden realized what “peace” really is.
We are also going to carry out more specific actions.
A virtual Race of Unity with Ukraine will take place. On Monday we open the registration panel and all entry fees money will go to our partner charity helping people suffering from war in Ukraine. The Race of Unity will continue until March 27. You can run this race virtually but also wear the Race of Unity race bibs during the Peace Half Marathon or New Balance High Five Race.
